Thunderstorms expected in most provinces

As per the South African Weather Service, the country is expected to experience warm and partly cloudy weather on Wednesday.

Here is the weather forecast for your region:

  • Gauteng: Cool and partly cloudy, with isolated thundershowers expected in the south during the afternoon.
  • Mpumalanga Lowveld: Fine and hot.
  • Limpopo: Partly cloudy and warm to hot, with the east being an exception as it will experience fine conditions.
  • North West: Warm and partly cloudy, with isolated thundershowers expected except in the northeast.
  • Free State: Partly cloudy and cool to warm, with scattered thundershowers expected in the afternoon.
  • Northern Cape: Fine and cool in general, with morning fog patches expected over the southern high ground. The north can expect isolated thundershowers in the afternoon.
  • Western Cape: Cloudy and cool, with a chance of rain and isolated showers along the south coast in the morning. Partly cloudy conditions are expected in the west and north during the afternoon.
  • Eastern Cape: Cloudy skies are expected in the south, with a chance of light rain along the coast. Partly cloudy and cool conditions are expected in the east, with strong south-westerly winds along the coast.
  • KwaZulu-Natal: Partly cloudy and warm in most parts, with isolated thundershowers expected in the east. The west can expect scattered showers. The north of Durban will experience fresh northerly to north-easterly winds in the morning, while fresh to strong southerly to south-westerly winds are expected in other parts.

The UVB sunburn index is expected to be high in most areas.
