Weather warning for heavy rain, flooding for parts of Mpumalanga, Limpopo

The South African Weather Service has issued a yellow level 2 warning for heavy rain leading to localized flooding for parts of Limpopo and Mpumalanga.

Impact-based warnings:

A yellow level 2 Warning for disruptive rainfall resulting in heavy downpour leading to localized flooding of susceptible roads, informal settlements and low lying bridges are expected in lowveld and escarpment areas of Limpopo and the northern lowveld and escarpment of Mpumalanga in the early morning.

Gauteng will be partly cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers.

The expected UVB sunburn index is extreme.

In Mpumalanga, it will be cloudy and cool to warm with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers but widespread in the north-east at first.

Limpopo will be cloudy and cool to warm with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers but widespread in the east at first.

It will be fine and warm in the North West, becoming partly cloudy, with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers.

In the Free State, it will be cloudy with morning fog patches in the east, otherwise fine and cool to warm, becoming partly cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers in the north.

The Northern Cape will be cloudy with morning fog patches in the south, otherwise fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy in the north-east where isolated showers and thundershowers are expected.

The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong south-easterly.

The Western Cape will be partly cloudy to cloudy over the eastern parts in the morning, otherwise fine and cool to warm but hot along the west coast.

The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong easterly to south-easterly, becoming southerly north of Cape Point, otherwise north-easterly from the afternoon.

The expected UVB sunburn index is very high.

It will be cloudy in places at first in the Eastern Cape, otherwise fine and cool.

The wind along the coast will be light to moderate easterly.

The eastern half of the province will also be cloudy with isolated light showers along the Wild Coast and in the extreme east at first, otherwise partly cloudy and cool.

The wind along the coast will be light to moderate south-westerly, becoming easterly from afternoon.

KwaZulu-Natal will have morning fog over the interior, otherwise cloudy and cool with isolated early morning showers along the coast.

The wind along the coast will be fresh south-westerly, moderating from the south towards afternoon.

The expected UVB sunburn index is moderate.
