Tuesday heat is coming

Provinces across the country can expect hot conditions on Tuesday, according to the South African Weather Service.

Impact-based warning 

Yellow level 2 warning for wind, resulting in blowing dust and difficult driving conditions for high-sided vehicles on prone routes, can be expected over the eastern parts of the Northern Cape, the extreme western parts of the North West and the western parts of the Free State. 

Fire danger warning

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the Free State, North West, the eastern parts of the Northern Cape and the northern parts of the Eastern Cape.

The weather in your province

Gauteng will be fine and warm.

The expected UVB sunburn index is high.

In Mpumalanga, it will be fine and warm, but hot in the lowveld.

In Limpopo, it will be fine and warm.

The North West will be fine and warm to hot.

It will become windy and partly cloudy in the west.

The Free State will be fine, windy and warm, but partly cloudy over the central and the western half.

The Northern Cape will be cloudy to partly cloudy in places in the morning, otherwise fine, windy and cool, but warm in the east and north.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-westerly. 

Conditions in the Western Cape will be cloudy to partly cloudy and cold to cool, with isolated to scattered showers along the south coast in the morning, spreading to the adjacent interior and the Cape metropole from the afternoon.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-westerly.

The expected UVB sunburn index is moderate.

The western half of the Eastern Cape will be partly cloudy and warm in the northern interior, otherwise cloudy and cool, with isolated light rain and showers in places, but scattered along the coast.

Windy conditions can be expected over the northern interior.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh easterly, becoming fresh to strong westerly from the west mid-morning.

Conditions in the eastern half of the Eastern Cape will be cloudy south of escarpment at first, otherwise partly cloudy and warm, becoming cloudy in the south, with isolated showers and rain.

Windy conditions can be expected over the northern interior. 

The wind along the coast will be light north-easterly, becoming moderate to fresh easterly, but light southerly.

KwaZulu-Natal will be partly cloudy in the east at first, otherwise fine and warm, but hot in places over the interior.

It will become cloudy in the south-east from the evening. 

The wind along the coast will be moderate north-easterly, becoming fresh at times in the afternoon.
